Telehealth/Phone Appointment
Telehealth and phone appointments may be available for both new and follow-up consultations.
Phone appointments offer a convenient way to discuss your concerns, allow us to assess your needs promptly, and help reduce unnecessary travel and time spent in the office. If an in-person examination or treatment is needed, we will arrange an office visit at the appropriate time.
Please ensure that all required forms have been completed and that any requested laboratory tests, voiding diaries, or imaging studies have been completed before your appointment. Having this information available allows us to make the most of your visit and provide the best possible care. Incomplete laboratory tests, voiding diaries, or imaging studies may result in appointment delays or rescheduling.
Please review the Frequently Asked Questions below. If you have additional questions, our team is happy to help. Please contact our office during regular business hours.
How do phone appointments work?
You will be provided with a scheduled call window for your appointment. Dr. Bacsu will make every effort to contact you within that time frame.
Please note that calls may come from a private or unknown number. To avoid missing your appointment, ensure you are available by the phone throughout your scheduled call window.
If you do not answer the phone during your assigned call window, your appointment will be considered a missed appointment and may be subject to a no-show fee. Missed appointments reduce the availability of consultation times for other patients waiting to be seen and place additional strain on the publicly funded healthcare system.
Please review our Appointment and No-Show Policies in the Policies section for additional details.
What can I expect during my consultation?
Most consultations take approximately 5–15 minutes, depending on the nature and complexity of your medical concern.
Before your appointment, your surgeon will review your referral and any available medical records, test results, or imaging. Following your consultation, they will complete any necessary documentation, which may include consultation reports, laboratory requisitions, referrals, imaging requests, or surgical booking forms.
If additional follow-up is required, our office will arrange another appointment. You may also receive further information or be scheduled for additional testing or investigations based on the outcome of your consultation.
Have not been called by the doctor yet?
Surgical practice is inherently unpredictable, and occasionally emergencies or urgent patient care may delay the surgeon's schedule. If you do not receive a call during your scheduled appointment window, it may be because the surgeon has been delayed by an unexpected emergency. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Whenever possible, we will contact you later the same day. If we are unable to reach you, our office will prioritize rescheduling your consultation and will notify you of your new appointment.
If you have not heard from us by the end of the day, please feel free to contact our office on the next business day, and we will be happy to assist you.
What should I have ready for my appointment?
Please have the following information available for your appointment, along with any additional information our office has requested:
-
Your medical history
-
A list of your current medications
-
Any allergies
-
Your email address
-
Any completed forms requested by our office
-
Results of any laboratory tests, imaging, or other investigations that were requested prior to your appointment
Completing all requested forms and investigations before your appointment helps ensure your consultation is as efficient and productive as possible.
What should I do if I don’t receive a call during my appointment window?
Do not come to the office unless you are scheduled for an in-office appointment.
Do not call the office the day of your appointment if you have not heard from us within the time window. If we are delayed by an emergency, we will try and call you later in the day and if we are unable to reach you will reschedule you.
If you need to cancel, please call our office as soon as possible. We cannot accept email cancellation.
