In-Office Appointments
In-office appointments are scheduled when a face-to-face discussion or physical examination is required.
Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Ensure that all requested forms and any required investigations have been completed prior to your visit.
Unless otherwise instructed, please arrive with a comfortably full bladder, as Dr. Bacsu may ask you to complete a uroflow test upon arrival.
Please review the Frequently Asked Questions below. If you have additional questions, our team is happy to help. Please contact our office during regular business hours.
What is a uroflow?
A uroflow test is a simple, non-invasive test where you urinate into a special machine that measures the flow of urine and produces a graph for Dr. Bacsu to review. This helps assess how well the urinary tract functions.
Depending on your referral, this test may be required as part of your appointment. It is an important investigation that helps guide diagnosis and treatment.
Please note that a uroflow test is different from a urine sample. The urine is not collected or analyzed, we only measure how the urine flows
What can I expect during my consultation?
Most consultations take approximately 5–15 minutes, depending on the nature and complexity of your medical concern.
Before your appointment, your surgeon will review your referral and any available medical records, test results, or imaging. Following your consultation, they will complete any necessary documentation, which may include consultation reports, laboratory requisitions, referrals, imaging requests, or surgical booking forms.
If additional follow-up is required, our office will arrange another appointment. You may also receive further information or be scheduled for additional testing or investigations based on the outcome of your consultation.
My appointment is running late.
Every effort is made to ensure appointments run on time, and we value your time. However, wait times may occasionally be longer than expected if the surgeon is required to attend to an urgent or emergency situation.
We appreciate your patience and understanding, as this is a publicly funded healthcare system and all patients will be seen as efficiently as possible.
If you leave the office before your appointment has begun, it may be considered a no-show and may be subject to a fee, unless otherwise approved by our staff.
What should I have ready for my appointment?
Please have the following information available for your appointment, along with any additional information our office has requested:
-
Your medical history
-
A list of your current medications
-
Any allergies
-
Your email address
-
Any completed forms requested by our office
-
Results of any laboratory tests, imaging, or other investigations that were requested prior to your appointment
Completing all requested forms and investigations before your appointment helps ensure your consultation is as efficient and productive as possible.
What do I do if I forgot about my appointment?
All missed appointments are subject to a no-show fee, as missed visits place additional strain on the publicly funded healthcare system. A missed appointment also prevents another patient from being seen by the surgeon. As appointment availability is limited, we require a minimum of 2 business days’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
If you are experiencing fever, chills, diarrhea, cough, cold-like symptoms, or any signs of infection on the day of your appointment, please call our office and do not come in person.
As our physician sees many patients with various autoimmune and other health conditions, we aim to minimize any risk to Dr. Bacsu, our staff, and other patients.
